tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1559850219424554239.post6236020994859416175..comments2023-09-25T11:48:08.067-04:00Comments on Unapologetically Fat: Hurt and Anger; To Tell or Not to Tell?JoGeekhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16093660035883346402noreply@blogger.comBlogger6125tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1559850219424554239.post-52129583187625997602010-01-26T05:50:13.405-05:002010-01-26T05:50:13.405-05:00I've been thinking a lot about anger and what ...I've been thinking a lot about anger and what to do with it because I grew up with a need to repress it in order to avoid worse abuse than what I was already enduring. <br /><br />Over the last couple of years, I have found that it is a very context sensitive emotion. <br /><br />A year ago, it did me no good to try to say anything if somebody made me angry because my response to that person's reaction reinforced old habits. <br /><br />As I worked through my issues, saying something, even if it did no outward good became a healthy for me because it was an assertion of my boundaries and reinforced the idea that my space was as important as everybody else's. <br /><br />And no matter which choice you make, it depends entirely on the setting and the people involved. Sometimes, not saying anything is appropriate. Sometimes, saying something is important no matter the outcome.
